Butcher Partners Limited

Butcher Partners Limited is a private company which has been established for 30 years and undertakes economic and business research for a wide range of public and private sector entities both in New Zealand and internationally.

The principal is Geoff Butcher (MA Economics), and occasional members of the staff include Wendy Butcher (BSc, MLIS) and Nick Butcher ( ME Electrical).

Company focus

BPL has long focused on Cost Benefit Analysis and regional economic impact modeling. Geoff has appeared on behalf of a number of clients as an expert economist witness for RMA hearings in front of both Commissioners and the Environment Court. He has undertaken numerous analyses of the economic impacts of tourism and of irrigation projects, as well as of a range of other infrastructure and industry projects.

Current and recent projects include:

Leading and developing a cooperative approach to section development in Christchurch. The project was successfully completed and enabled the participants to acquire sections at an affordable price by taking on the development risk and retaining the developer margin
