Halswell Quarry is a park on the fringe of the city with walks, historic sites and six sister-city gardens.

There is plenty to do, from walking to biking, plus three permanent orienteering courses. Large open spaces make for great picnic sites for big groups. Explore the sister-city gardens which showcase plants from Canterbury and our Sister-Cities around the world.
The entrance to the main car park is 1km along Kennedys Bush Road. Metro(external link) website has up-to-date bus information.

Gates and opening hours
Gates open at 7.30am all year round. Vehicle gates close:
January – March and November – December 9pm
April – May and September – October 7pm
June – August 6pm
Horses
A horse riding arena is provided in the park but horses are prohibited in the adjacent conservation area.
