Northbrook Museum is a very large private museum (possibly the most extensive in New Zealand). Housed in four large buildings is a vast collection of New Zealand’s social history with thousands of exhibits. The museum was created by Richard Spark in 1982. Highlights include an early Rangiora street, featuring a butcher, dentist, pharmacy, grocer, camera and hardware shop etc. See our large collection of household items, veterinary and carpenters’ tools.

The Museum can be used as an educational programme. We offer schools and kindergartens a full two and a half hour programme. This includes a tour of the museum, cow milking, an audio visual presentation of the arrival of the Early Settlers to Canterbury plus much much more.

Adjacent to the Museum is Rossburn Receptions, our Function Centre. For more information please see our website or go to rangiora.com (Catering/Functions/Events section). Contact Richard and Dawn Spark for more information and to arrange a visit.
