Te Tapuae o Rēhua represents the commitment of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and its tertiary partners
to work together to achieve Maori success.

Maori social inequalities present a complex problem. To tackle these challenges, a unique partnership was forged between Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, Lincoln University, Otago Polytechnic,the University of Canterbury and the University of Otago called Te Tapuae o Rehua.

Te Tapuae uses a collaborative approach bringing together the strengths of Ngai Tahu, its tertiary partners and others to achieve positive and lasting social change for Maori.

Te Tapuae is the backbone organisation dedicated to helping our partners work together to achieve Maori educational success as Maori (Ka Hikitia). Through working together with our partners we believe we can maximise positive change for Maori.

Our work includes a range of initiatives, programmes, events, and research projects. Whatever the project our kaupapa remains the same, working together with our partners to grow Maori capability and educational success in Te Waipounamu.
