Wigram Base is one of Christchurch’s most historic boutique venues.
The original RNZAF Base Wigram Officers Mess was built in 1938, it served officers of Royal New Zealand Air Force Base Wigram for decades. During its time it would see royal visits, dining ins, graduation parties, dinners and events for International delegations.
Recently undergoing renovations and restoration Wigram Base has a range of function and event spaces, from the stunning art deco Ballroom complete with parquet flooring and feature ceiling, to the quiet sophistication of our Anteroom with its traditional fireplace and art deco style lighting. In our private acre and a half of gardens you find the original St Marks Chapel built in 1943 for the Air Force base, perfect for an intimate ceremony followed by old fashioned garden games, champagne and canapés.
We pride ourselves on flexibility and our ability to adapt to your requirements, from conferences, weddings to formal dinners we have something to suit your style and budget. Our full scale commercial kitchen and professional management team have years of experience in the industry, looking after both big and small events so you can be confident you’re in good hands.
