Victoria Park is a large recreational area on the Port Hills above Christchurch, New Zealand.

The main access points into the park are from Sign of the Takahe, the main Victoria Park car park, and Sign of the Kiwi. Victoria Park has a children’s playground, opportunities for cross-country and downhill mountain bike adventures and a designated dog park. There are always opportunities for joining volunteer projects.

Bus routes reach as far as the Sign of the Takahe. Refer to Metroinfo(external link) for timetables.

Gates and opening hours

Gates open at 7.30am and close at:

  • January – March and November – December 9pm
  • April – May and September – October 7pm
  • June – August 6pm

Toilets

Facilities available at Victoria Park, Sign of the Takahe and Sign of the Kiwi.

Dogs

Outside the designated dog park, dogs are only permitted on the walkways and must be restrained by a leash at all times.
